Building Successful Online Businesses

Ok, so you've read and heard so many stories about people making money online and you are wondering how you can do the same, right?

First, you might be thinking that people that make money online are only building one online business and making all of their money through that one business. In some cases that could be true. However, most of the people that are making money online are creating or participating in multiple online businesses.

My personal favorite is creating niche content websites.

If you are not yet familiar with that term, niche content websites are sites that are focused on a very specific topic. A quick example of topics are container gardening, coping with diabetes, extreme fitness, cake decorating, managing your money, or anything that you are interested in or passionate about. Notice how cake and fitness just happen to go side by side?

There are several reasons why niche content websites are my favorite choice. The first reason is fun. I find it very enjoyable to create a website around a topic that I like and have a genuine interest in.

The second reason is that they are easy to monetize. I can add Adsense and Infolinks to the websites as well as affiliate marketing programs that relate to my specific niche.

Another reason is that once they are up and running the on–going maintenance is pretty easy. Just remember to schedule some time each week to add some new content and ensure that you do not have any missing or broken links. You will also want to spend time each week on marketing your website.

I must admit that when I first thought of building my own websites I was a bit concerned because I wasn't exactly sure about what I needed to do to get started. At first I didn't understand how to code in HTML and I had honestly never heard of the term SEO, let alone all the other things that I needed to learn to make this possible.
