An exciting prospect has landed on your lap. You have come across products that are brought to you by a network marketing company. Because increasing your income has been at the forefront of your mind, you take a moment to consider this network marketing opportunity and if it would fit in with your life.
There are some questions that you will need to have answered before you take the leap and join in with this network marketing business. Once you get the answers, you will be able to decide if you can have a fulfilling career from participating in network marketing. It is important that the company is a good match for you, before making the choice.
Grab a pen and paper and take some time to think. There are questions you need to get down on paper. And those questions will require answers that are very honest. Don't think about the future and where you think you will be, as it is the here and now that matters most.
This is not an attempt to steer you away from a network marketing career path. Mistakes are the equivalent to wasted money coming out of your pocket, so my goal is to assist you in working out the kinks while making a profitable career decision. Trust what I am saying to you. You can stay away from the errors that I have made, and by listening to my advice, you won't run into the issues that I did. When beginning a career in network marketing, what are some of the questions you should think about?
1. If the business takes a lot of time, energy and hard work, which it will, do I have the time to invest? Many people glamorize the job and make it sound like the work they put in is minimal and still very rewarding. This isn't always the case, as a lot of time gets put into making appointments, and while they may only take an hour here and there, preparing and organizing yourself can be very time consuming.
You have to be realistic and think about the time that goes into making a business work, and then decide if you have it to devote to network marketing. Are you spending a significant amount of time working another job? Does your home life consume a large chunk of your day? Is your time taken up by clubs, groups, or church, on a regular basis?
This is the kind of stuff you need to keep in mind when trying to figure out how much time can be devoted to this career path.
2. Are you committed to achieving your goals? Will your business's success become your number one priority? Do you often set a goal and then let nothing stop you when it comes to reaching them? Having a long term goal, and then smaller, short term goals along the way will be the key to becoming successful when it comes to anything in life, especially this type of career.
Are you hoping to purchase a brand new car in the future?
How are you going to achieve that goal?
Are you going to focus on making big sales or on getting people to join your team? How are you going to go about convincing others to join your team?
Are you going to be able to keep other people motivated in order for them to be making you money? How prepared are you to achieve your goals? Do you want to be able to work from the comfort of your own home, and make network marketing your full time career? If that is the case, the effort you put in must be doubled.
To put yourself in the position to make network marketing your full time job in the future, you will have to devote time to your current career, while working your new business in your spare time.
3. Are you selling a product that you believe in and love? Have you sold your stock of products down to nothing? Are you the type of person who has put your products out there for your family and friends to also believe in and purchase?
You must be a believer if you want other people to believe in what you are selling. The people that don't believe are the ones who begin this career, hoping to make quick and easy money, while barely having to work for it. There are recruiters out there that make false promises of it taking no effort to sell a product, in order to get people to join their team, rather than being honest with them.
They will say things like, "This product sells itself, without any effort from you."
These are common words that many have fallen for. It is important that your product is one that you love and believe in. Otherwise, you will find it impossible to successfully sell it. And, on top of that, you won't feel good about it. Inevitably, you will feel like you told a lie. The products you sell should be ones that you would use yourself, though that doesn't mean that every product in your catalog should be something that you have to be in love with if it doesn't suit you, but believing in it is important.
4. Do you find it easy to socialize with others? Are you quiet and reserved, or is it easy for you to talk to others?
Online attraction marketing is the key to jumpstarting your network marketing business, especially if you don't feel confident in talking to others. You may be able to obtain warm leads for your network marketing business.
The questions that I have talked about above are extremely important, and the key to figuring out if network marketing is right for you, if you answer them honestly.
There is a good possibility that you will see that you excel in some areas, and not in others. Possessing enough of the qualities needed may make you see that you could be successful in beginning a business in network marketing, and you will be aware that there are areas that you should focus on in order to become even more successful at what you are starting.
Don't waste time lying to yourself, as it is more important to realize what qualities are already a part of your personality and put effort into working on where you are lacking. It is important that you don't let a recruiter influence you negatively.
When considering these questions, you can also ask people that you are close with to answer them about you, to see what they think. Your recruiter should be one that does not pressure you and allows you to take the time to think about your next steps.
